| The Carolinas Golf Foundation (CGF) was
formed by the Carolinas Golf Association in 1977 to provide
support for universities and technical schools involved in
				golf-oriented turfgrass research.
Since then, the CGF has expanded to assist other programs such
as the First Tee, USGA/LGPA Junior Girls and other junior
programs, women's golf, Rounds4Research and many other
worthwhile Carolinas projects. The CGF is supported through
individual contributions like yours and through the CGA.

 Scholarships
The CGF scholarship program supports students who are
aspiring to become golf superintendents and turfgrass managers
in the Carolinas. In 2011, the Carolinas Golf Foundation
underwrote grants to turfgrass majors at Clemson University,
North Carolina State University, and 6 Carolinas-based community
				colleges totaling $26,000!
Turfgrass Research ProjectsThe Carolinas Golf Foundation also concentrates research grant
aid at various colleges which is used for new grasses and
				treatments to
be used in the grass transition zone, which covers the
				Carolinas.
Player DevelopmentThe Foundation supports many aspects of women's golf and junior
golf throughout the Carolinas. Donations are made to the Women's
Carolinas Golf Association, North Carolina Women's Golf
Association, South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation, and many
				other worthy volunteer groups.

				License Plate Program FAQ
				1. If I order just the
CGA plate, what will it look like? The Special
plate will resemble the plate icon at the top of this column.
The four main characters on the plate will be numbers and your
				total plate number will be:# # # # CG.
 2. How do I personalize
my CGA plate? On the order form there is a
check box you may select to order a personalized plate. You may
select 4 characters for a personalized message (you may use a
combination of letters and numbers but you cannot specify
numbers only when ordering a personalized plate). The total price for a personalized CGA
plate is $60.00. Make your check out to the Carolinas Golf
Association or CGA. 3. When will I receive
my new license plate? The State of North Carolina
has already approved our license plate design. However, we need
to have a minimum of 300 special plate orders for the DMV to
begin distribution. Once we have 300 orders we will submit all
of the orders to the DMV and they will mail your new plates to
you directly. We hope to reach our goal of 300 plates within six
				months, if not sooner.
				Update: Plate orders
				as of 8/1/13 = 254 applications
				4. What happens after
you get to 300 orders? At that time all
applicants will be able to order the CGA License
Plate directly from the North Carolina Division of Motor
				Vehicles.

				5. Why are you asking
for my vehicle and insurance information on the order form?
All of this information is required by the NC DMV in order to
process the application for a Special or Personalized license
plate. Your signed form will be forwarded to the DMV together
with all orders once we have reached the minimum 300 order
level. 6. What do I do when it
comes time to renew my plate? You will renew your
license plate in the normal manner. If you choose to keep your
special or personalized plate the DMV will charge you $30 (or
$60) in addition to the regular license plate renewal fee (+/-
				$28.00) for each
year you continue with the special plate program.
				7. How do I order a CGA License Plate? Just download the
application form from our website, fill out all of the
requested information, sign the application, and return it to
the Carolinas Golf Association with your check or credit card
information. Your plate will be mailed to you from the DMV
shortly after we have reached the 300 order minimum. Make
your check out to the Carolinas Golf Association or CGA.

				8. Can I order a
plate if I live outside North Carolina? You may order a
plate if you have a vehicle registered in the state of North
Carolina. Your residency does not matter.
