Home Telecom Community Involvement Focuses on Giving Back to Local Communities

Home Telecom community involvement focuses on giving back to local South Carolina families and communities.

Home Telecom believes in giving back to our local South Carolina communities. Each year, we donate thousands of dollars to help local charities, including public and private schools, little league teams, senior citizen organizations, local chapters of national non-profits and even help to fund scholarships for kids.

Home Telecom Community Involvement and Volunteerism

Our Home Telecom community involvement doesn’t stop there. We encourage our employees to volunteer and give back to community organizations that are important to them. Our employees volunteer for several important causes, including United Way’s Day of Caring, the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life and many more.

Home Telecom Community Involvement Projects

Over the years, Home Telecom has helped our local community with various charities and projects. We’ve put together a brief list of some of our proudest accomplishments.

Home Telecom Miracle League Field

The Home Telecom Miracle League Field was a vision that took six years. Home Telecom donated $250,000 to help build the field and was the largest private donor to sponsor this vital community project. The area gives both children and adults with disabilities the ability to play baseball with assistance. The field features a custom-designed rubberized turf and many different amenities to help people with disabilities. Before Home Telecom Miracle League Field, parents and families drove nearly an hour to access the nearest inclusive field. Watch the video about the making of Home Telecom Miracle League Field

Home Telecom 2020 Red Cross Blood Drive

Home Telecom community involvement also focuses on giving back to the American Red Cross. In 2020, we celebrated National Blood Donor Month by partnering with the American Red Cross to donate blood. Not only did we encourage our employees to contribute to this important cause, but we opened it to the public. We recognize that the critical need for blood benefits our entire community. Home Telecom Give Me Shelter 5K Color Run

Home Telecom is committed to supporting our local youth, so we supported the Home Telecom Give Me Shelter 5K Color Run to help raise funds for the Carolina Youth Development Center in 2022. This event focused on benefiting all families served by the Carolina Youth Development Center in Berkeley County and the Callen Lacey Center for Children in Moncks Corner. Check out the highlights from this fun, colorful run sponsored by Home Telecom.

Coastal Community Foundation of South Carolina

Home Telecom created the HOME Community Fund at Coastal Communication Foundation two decades ago to help support the surrounding communities in Berkeley County, South Carolina. Over the past two years, we have expanded the fund to help support nonprofits in Charleston County and Dorchester County. Since 2005, we have donated more than $460,000 to local South Carolina non-profit organizations through our Coastal Community Foundation

The Rural Broadband Association Community Grant Program

Home Telecom is a proud member of the NTCA. Organizations within Home Telecom’s service area can apply for the NTCA Community Grant Program. Grants ranging from $250 to $5,000 are available for four categories: business and economic development, community development education and telecommunications.
