What is MyWiFi Xtreme?
MyWiFi Xtreme is the next generation of Wi-Fi technology called Wi-Fi 6. Wi-Fi 6 allows for more devices, better coverage, and faster speeds. This powerful Wi-Fi 6 technology will provide Home Telecom customers with better connectivity and overall experience.
What does MyWiFi Xtreme offer?
MyWiFi Xtreme includes access to the MyWiFi Xtreme app. With the app, not only are you in total control of your Wi-Fi but your connected devices are also at your fingertips! Once the MyWiFi Xtreme app is downloaded and set up, it will protect you against malicious viruses and malware while on your home network. Enhanced parental controls, such as time limit restrictions and custom filters, ensure your internet rules are being followed, even when you're not home!
What are the advantages of MyWiFi Xtreme?
Some advantages available with MyWiFi Xtreme include creating your own guest networks as needed, setting time limits on certain applications or websites for Wi-Fi use, turning Wi-Fi off and on at the touch of a button, and much more! What are enhanced parental controls?
With MyWiFi Xtreme, you can now control even more with our enhanced parental controls. Protect your children from inappropriate or harmful content with custom filters, set time limits on specific applications or websites and turn Wi-Fi completely off with the touch of a button. Is MyWiFi Xtreme Available in all areas?
MyWiFi Xtreme is available in all residential FTTH and Cable Modem areas.
How do I sign up for MyWiFi Xtreme?
It's simple! Just send us your information using the form at the bottom of HomeSC.com/MyWiFi-Xtreme! If you'd rather give us a call, please contact 888-746-4482 during normal business hours and choose option 2 to make changes to your service. Then select, option 1 if you are calling to make changes for Residential services. One of our friendly Representatives will be more than happy to help you complete your request.
What are the requirements to access MyWiFi Xtreme?
You need to be a subscriber of Home Telecom Fiber or Cable Modem internet service to get MyWiFi Xtreme.
Where is the best place to put the MyWiFi Xtreme router?
To get the best experience possible, you'll need to place your device in a central location, in the up-right position with good "line of sight" visibility to the main areas of your home.
My wireless device says it cannot support a 5 GHz radio. What do I need to do?
Your device will still be supported on the 2.4 GHz radios. This could be due to your device's limitation and unrelated to Home Telecom.
There are four ethernet plug ports on the back of the MyWiFi Xtreme router. What should I do if I have more than four wired devices that I need to plug in?
You can purchase a gigabit switch and plug that into the MyWiFi Xtreme LAN port to give you the ability to plug in multiple devices.
How do I reboot the MyWiFi Xtreme router and keep my settings?
Unplug the power cord from the MyWiFi Xtreme router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and reapply power. Your settings will not be erased.
How do I pair devices, like my printer?
If your device supports WPS, simply follow the instructions included with your device's installation manual. Press the WPS button for less than 3 seconds on the back of the MyWiFi Xtreme router when instructed.
How do I know my device has completed boot-up?
When the LED light is solid blue, this indicates an active Internet connection. When the LED light is blinking red, this means there is no service or Internet connection detected.
Do I need to change out my equipment?
Yes, Home Telecom will need to change out your equipment in order to get the full benefits of MyWiFi Xtreme. You will be given more information about this when you sign up for the service.
Where can I download the MyWiFi Xtreme app?
You can download the MyWiFi Xtreme app from the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android).
