What devices are compatible with HomeStream TV?

Is there a limit on the amount of TVs or devices that can access HomeStream TV in the home?
The number of devices that will allow you to view HomeStream TV is the same as the number of streams available on your account. The max amount of streams you can purchase for your account is 7. We recommend getting one stream for each member of your household or each device you wish to watch HomeStream TV.
I don’t have internet. Can I still subscribe to HomeStream TV?
Unfortunately, no. You need Home Telecom internet in order to subscribe to HomeStream TV. A faster internet speed may be needed if multiple streams will play at once. We recommend a minimum of 6 Mbps per stream.
I don’t have internet with Home Telecom (I use a different company). Can I still subscribe to HomeStream TV?
Home Telecom Internet is required to access HomeStream TV.
I forgot my password. Is there a way to retrieve it or reset it?
You can reset your password by visiting this site on your PC or Web Browser. Once you click “Forgot Password?”, you will receive a link to reset your password.
If you’d rather speak to one of our representatives, simply call 888.746.4482. They will be able to help you retrieve your password.
Is there a way to program my remote to go straight to the HomeStream TV app?
With a Fire Stick or smart device, you will have to launch the app.
When I turn on the device I’m using, is there a way that the HomeStream TV app will start automatically or will I always have to choose to launch it?
You will have to choose to launch the app.
How much bandwidth is required per stream to operate HomeStream TV?
A minimum of 6 Mbps Internet per stream is recommended.
How do I purchase PPV or On Demand?
Pay Per View is unavailable with HomeStream TV. You can find shows and movies On Demand for free under the “Shows” or “Movies” tab when you access the main menu.
Do HomeStream TV customers still have access to use HomeTV2Go?
Yes! HomeTV2Go works the same as it does for digital TV customers today. The process for creating and using an account is the same. If you already have a HomeTV2Go account, you will need to call 888-746-4482 in order to have your login information updated before you can access. How can I use my smartphone as a remote?
You can utilize your smartphone or tablet as your device remote by first accessing the app store of your device. Download the remote control app for your device. App names are Amazon Fire TV Remote, Apple TV Remote, and Android TV. Follow the individual instructions for the app to begin using.
What should I do if my Amazon Fire TV Stick freezes or kicks me out of the HomeStream TV app?
You may need to reboot your Amazon Fire TV Stick by unplugging it for a few seconds. You can also try clearing the cache. To do this, go to the main menu of the Fire TV Stick. Select “Settings” then “Applications”. In the Applications menu, select “Manage Installed Applications”. Select the HomeStream TV App from the options available. Finally, select “Clear Data” and then “Clear Cache”.
Can I watch HomeStream TV outside?
As long as your device is connected to your home wi-fi connection, you can watch it anywhere around your house! Home Telecom also offers MyWiFi X to expand your wi-fi range to the back of your yard, your garage, or anywhere else that your signal strength may be weak!
Will Home Telecom have streaming devices customers can buy?
You may have a device that is ready to use HomeStream TV. Please consult with our device list to make sure it is compatible with HomeStream TV. If you are still in need of a device, please call 888-746-4482 to inquire about purchasing an Amazon Fire Stick from Home Telecom. Home Telecom provides the option to purchase an Amazon Fire Stick as a convenience to customers. Home Telecom will not replace broken equipment or broken/lost remote controls.
Can I watch HomeStream TV and access recordings from a web browser?

How do I install the HomeStream TV app on my smartphone or tablet?
We have several guides available to help with the most popular devices that are being used. Please follow the directions for installation in the "HomeStream TV Quick Setup Guides" section above.
What if I get an error that all streams are being used?
Simply go to one of the streaming devices that you have recently watched HomeStream TV on, go to Settings, and log out of the HomeStream TV app. This will stop that stream and allow you to watch from another device.
What happens to my recordings when I downgrade the amount of DVR Hours I subscribe to? Do I lose all my recordings?
No, you do not lose all your recordings. Only the older recordings will be deleted if your new DVR Hours amount cannot accommodate all of your current recordings.
For example: If you had a 200 DVR hours subscription with 100 hours of recordings in the cloud, when you downgrade to a 50 DVR Hours subscription, you will lose only the oldest 50 hours of recordings.
What happens to my recordings when I downgrade the package of content that I subscribe to? Do I lose all my recordings associated with those content channels?
You may lose any recordings that were associated with the higher package you downgraded from. The only recordings that will remain after you downgrade are the recordings of the channels you currently subscribe to.
What is the recording capability for Cloud DVR through HomeStream TV? Is there a set limit?
HomeStream TV includes 1 Stream to 1 device and 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage. Additional increments of 25 Cloud DVR hours are available at only $4 per month.
How many recordings can I schedule at the same time?
You can schedule as many recordings as you would like at one time. The only restriction is dependent on the amount of DVR hours you have available.
If I am watching a program and start recording half way through it, will it record the entire show or just from when I initiated the recording?
Your recording will begin at the time you initiate the recording command.
Can I record a program or movie when I opt to start the program from the beginning?
Your recording will begin from the time you tune in and not from the beginning of the program after you restart a program.
Where can I find a list of channels that allow me to record programs on them?

What is the timeout period for the HomeStream TV app if I leave the app on?
After 4 hours, the app will require confirmation that the user is still watching content. If there is no response after another 5 minutes, the app will close.
Is there a known time delay between the actual channel feed and the HomeStream TV feed?
Yes. Although the time lag is normally very small, it can be up to 2 minutes and 30 seconds, depending on the equipment response. On average you will find a 12 second delay.
What is Restart?
Restart is a great option available with select programs and channels that lets you start the program you are on from the beginning! When you see a program you want to start over, select it and press play. Depending upon the device you are using, it will either have an option immediately to select Restart or (after the program begins) a prompt will ask if you'd like to start a program from the beginning.

What is Replay?
Replay is a feature that allows us to offer up to 72 hours of previously aired programming and is available with most TV networks. To access this feature, select “Guide” from the main menu. Once in the Guide, click the left arrow and then select “Replay” or click the left navigation again. You can then view available content and watch the program at your convenience.
Can I record a program or movie when I Replay it?
No, you can not record a program with Replay. You will only be able to Replay the program for 72 hours from the air date.
Where can I find a list of channels that allow me to Replay programs on them?

Why are some channels not listed as available for Replay functionality?
This function is granted permission by the Programmer. If the rights are not granted by the Programmer, we are unable to offer it to our customers.

How often do new movies become available in the Shows & Movies Categories on the main menu?
There is a refresh of approximately 150 hours per day of new content in these On Demand libraries.
